LHS 3844 B es un planeta rocoso con un diámetro 1.3 veces mayor que la tierra orbitan 0.006 unidades astronómicas de su estrella dwarf roja fría. El planeta está caliente, con temperaturas de días calculadas para ser más de 1,000 grados Fahrenheit (más de aproximadamente 525 grados centígrados). 

Estudios anteriores muestran que es poco probable que el planeta tenga una atmósfera sustancial y que la superficie puede estar compuesta de roca oscura, tal vez basáltica. 

Las observaciones del espectro de emisión térmica del planeta utilizando el instrumento de infrarrojo medio de Webb (MIRI) proporcionarán más evidencia para ayudar a determinar de qué está hecha la superficie.
