Vista de longitud de onda múltiple de NGC 3351 (Hubble, VLT, Alma)

Esta imagen de la galaxia espiral NGC 3351 combina observaciones de varios observatorios para revelar detalles sobre sus estrellas y gas. Las observaciones de radio de la matriz de milímetro/submilímetro de Atacama muestran gas molecular denso en Magenta. El instrumento espectroscópico (Muse) de múltiples unidades del telescopio muy grande (Muse) se destaca donde las estrellas masivas jóvenes iluminan su entorno, partieron en rojo. Las imágenes del telescopio espacial Hubble destacan los carriles de polvo en estrellas blancas y recién formadas en azul. Las imágenes infrarrojas de alta resolución del telescopio espacial Webb ayudarán a los investigadores a identificar dónde las estrellas se están formando detrás del polvo y estudian las primeras etapas de la formación de estrellas en esta galaxia.
