
En esta imagen por la cámara de infrarrojo cercano de Webb (NIRCAM), un puñado de cientos de galaxias de fondo, que varían en tamaño y forma, aparecen junto con el sistema Neptuno.
neptuno, en comparación con la Tierra, es un planeta grande. Si la Tierra fuera del tamaño de un níquel, Neptuno sería tan grande como un baloncesto. En la mayoría de los retratos, los planetas exteriores de nuestro sistema solar reflejan este tamaño de otro mundo. Sin embargo, Neptuno parece relativamente pequeño en una vista de campo amplio del vasto universo.
hacia la parte inferior izquierda de esta imagen, se enfoca una galaxia espiral barrada. Los científicos dicen que esta galaxia en particular, previamente inexplorada en detalle, puede estar a unos mil millones de años luz de distancia. Las galaxias espirales como esta suelen estar dominadas por estrellas jóvenes que parecen azules en estas longitudes de onda.
